Tell us something about Ek Vivaah.. Aisa Bhi and your role in it…?
Before this there was Vivaah, and I played a very important character in it. Indian film has lost its impression which shows Indian culture, the film Vivaah shows our traditions, feelings and what real love is all about. The audience, the critics, all said that how would this film work. A lot of articles were also written about it. But the film conquered all. Once people saw the movie they loved it. All the people related to the movie were very happy about it. They were appreciated for their good work and were encouraged also.
So keeping the traditions alive, Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi has been produced. I feel very lucky to be a part of such a beautiful film and also to be working with Rajshri once again. I don’t play a huge role, but is a very important, sweet and small role. I am the father of the main character played by Eesha. I have three daughters in the movie. I am a single parent and how Eesha has taken care of the whole family after my death. The whole family is bonded with immense love and respect for each other. She has a younger sister and a brother. How she considers her house as her temple. She earns and brings the money home and gives the kids whatever they want, so that they never feel that there was no one to take care of them or even love them.
I play bhushanji, a normal middle class man who wears dhoti kurta, or kurta pajama and has always taught the kids that the house is your temple. It’s only your house that will always be there for you. There is tulsi plant in the compound of the house which we water everyday so that the day starts off 
nicely and with positively. Esha’s engagement gets fixed, she and her father have a long emotional chat that night, but on the next day on the day of the engagement the engagement breaks off due to some reasons and bhushanji also thinks that his life is now over. There are many ups and downs in life. Eesha wants her brother to study hard, start earning and then get married to a girl who will keep this house like a temple in the same way like I’ve done for so many years. But one day her going to be mother-in-law asks her to get married to her son immediately since she’s becoming old and she wants some one to care of her son. It is also her wish to have a daughter-in-law while she’s alive. She knows that Chandini has a lot of problems and has to take care of her own house as well, but also tells her that id she does not get married to her son fast, she will get him married some where else. To which Chandini agrees and says that she’s ready to sacrifice her love but she will not leave her family in this state. After some time Chandini opens up her own music school. During this same period her sister-in-law realizes her mistake and comes back home. Because of this her daughter whose studying abroad also comes whom, she is also involved in a very nice relationship with one guy. Her marriage gets fixed. The baarat comes to the door but bhushanji feels sad because instead of two baarats’ only one comes. The girl who has sacrificed so much for her family is not getting married at that point of time. But later on her barat also comes. So I am very thankful that she gets married. I am glad that Rajshri has made such a nice and beautiful movie. I’ve been with Rajshri for the past 25 years. And Rajshri has always loved me in the role of a father. I am an accountant and I leave early in the morning, I make breakfast in the morning for my kids, I come home late in the night because I work overtime in the office. And he’s happy that his daughter’s marriage gets fixed and he becomes so happy that he could have even lost his life.
On music… There are beautiful songs on the movie. They will catch up to you very easy
On working with Eesha
This is my 2nd film with esha. In this movie she plays the character of my daughter. And ive seen her in other movies also. I thought a girl who plays a very modern and glamorous roles in other movies will she be able to play the role of a daughter who is very simple looking? But on the 1st day of the shoot when esha came all dressed for and ready to shoot for her character, I was completely shocked. Se looked so simple and beautiful. It was like she completed the family. She was very comfortable with every one. She was friendly with every one. She has done a fabulous job and she will be rewarded for it.
On working with Sonu
I did not get to interact much with him…I had to shoot for just one day with him. But even in that one day I realized that he is a much disciplined actor, very smart.
Tell us bout Smita ji?
I worked many times with smita, in movies and serials. No ego. She makes you very comfortable. You won’t feel your acting with another actor, you feel like your working with your friend.
How was the work of Harish ji?
No matter how much I say about him, its still very less. He’s a very old and dear friend of mine. Rajanji who was a very good cameraman, unfortunately he’s not alive. But it’s harishji who has carried on his work.
How was it working with director – Kaushik Ghatak?
is just awesome. I worked with him from the past 20-25 years. We were together while we were working in maine pyaar kiya. Everything was always prepared for him. He used to always roam around with his script. He always got what ever he wanted. He’s an awesome director. Very sweet and innocent.
How is it working with Rajshri?
25 yrs since saransh – in 80’s. its family. All kinds of people are related with rajshri. One becomes completely pure when they become a part of rajshri. I have no words for rajshri. They are just too good.
