Anil-Anupam friendship takes a U trun!
Finally the cold war between Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor took a back seat as former best buddies met at the premiere of Sikandar’s, son of Kiron and Anupam Kher, debut film Woodstock Villa. Anupam who was pleasantly surprised at Anil turning up for the party, he stated the two hadn’t been in touch for over three years.
Anupam who was not sure if Anil would come for the party or not, confessed that he had half expected it but was happy that Anil turned up. Anil and anupam have been seen together in many films starting with the super hit Tezaab. They have given hits like Ram Lakhan, Deewana Mastana, Lamhe, Ladla, Mr. Bechara, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain and Om Jai Jagdish. Anil also happened to feature in Anupam Kher’s directorial debut. Anupam had not appeared for the premier of Sonam’s directorial debut with Saawariya or for the premier of Gandhi My Father.
However, Gandhiji has a major hand in the cold war between Anil and Anupam. It so happened that Anupam had decided his production of Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara and he himself would do the lead role but he was upset at the news that Anil was launching Gandhi My Father with some other actor in the lead role. This created the rife between the two which lasted for three years.
Then, when Anupam was driving past Anil’s office, he just felt an impulse to go up to him and invite him for the premier. The best thing about the premiere of Woodstock Villa was that people who generally throw tantrums at other parties came for this one like the hot celebs Bachchan family, Yash Chopra, and especially Mahesh Bhatt, Anupam’s mentor who never turns up for any premiere. But to top it all Anupam was exhilarated that Anil Kapoor came to wish his son luck.
