COUNTRY CLUB’S RANG BARSE CELEBRATION. COUNTRY CLUB OF India celebrated Holi at its clubs across the country. Spreading cheer and vibrancy in the air, CCIL made elaborate arrangements with its show RANG BARSE – the celebrities to add more colour, the DJ music, the raindance and colourful hues of gulal. The setting seemed perfect for the most enjoyable holi celebrations.

Film stars like Koena Mitra, Geeta Basra, Anjana Sukhani and Nauheed Cyrusi joined in the revelry at Country Club’s Spring Club in Kandivali Mumbai. While applying gulal to each other these gorgeous bollywood babes struggles to keep the while outfits off colour.

Own sweet and sizzling Sush has been known for her boyfriends. Don’t even begin to think that I don’t like her, why I have the best regards for her. The nice part is that she is just as you see her. While the rest of the girls are hiding their scarlet letters, she brazenly admits to seeing someone. And so she did not have a bit of a problem posing for obliging snappers with the latest man in her life- Bunty Sachdeva. They were recently seen at a party, Sush looking all glamorous and dressed up to within an inch of herself. Word has it that they were like a couple of youngsters, holding hands and whispering sweet nothing into each others ears. We sure hope you are happy Sush!

Shilpa Shetty

While on one hand we have someone frank and gracious, the other is adorned by none other than Shilpa Shetty. By now, everyone has to be tired of her Big Brother story. Gawd! Some stupid woman called her something behind her back and she is still milking out on that! Shilpa baby, it is getting a little old now, so you should consider giving it a rest. Now she is in high flying company- hanging around with the likes of K Jo. Of course, she looks right through those who were there for her when these money bags refused to acknowledge her existence. A certain Bobby Khan, who was by Shilpa’s side during Big Brother, must feel rather bad when she looks through the man today. Tch tch. A word of advice Shilpa, the way up was hard for you, but the way down is going to be harder with this attitude.

Along with poor Bobby Khan, even Rakesh Roshan got quite a jolt from the svelte actress. You see, the very successful director wanted to have a hot sizzling item number in his latest venture- Krazy 4. He approached Bipasha first, but since she was not comfortable working with Arshad Warsi, who is one of the main people in the film, she had to turn the offer down. At least she is honest, don’t you think? Then, Mr. Roshan went to Shilpa Shetty with the offer and was knocked off his feet when the talk of Britain asked for a whooping 50 lakhs for one dance! Whew, I can imagine the chagrin he must have felt there. Shilpa refused to budge from her price and actually turned the offer down. She even went to the extent of snubbing the film when she was asked about the issue as what she replied was “I don’t talk about film that I don’t do.” That’s quite a statement. Looks like she is taking her Big Brother status too seriously as this was just, well, crazy! An indignant Rakesh Roshan then got our own item girl, Rakhi Sawant roped in for the project. You know what they say- one man’s loss is another man’s gain.

Let’s move on to something less revolting, shall we? Oh, of course! We should talk about Ash and her new admirer. No, no. it is not another crazed fan who did something stupid. This is RGV himself! During the filming of Sarkar Raj, the two got along like a house on fire. This is surprising because the normally reticent director is very picky and choosy about those he mingles with, as is Mrs. Bachchan, who is known for her professional ties with her directors. Contrary to their regular behavior, the two used to chat endlessly. They are all praise for each other too. In fact, Ramu has been quoted saying that the film would have been possible without AB and his baby, but not without the newest addition to the Bachchan fold. Careful there Ramu, you just might have ruffled a few feathers.

Nisha Kothari

The feathers ruffled are not necessarily that of the Bachchans, but also of a certain Miss Kothari. Of course you remember her? The girl who did both James and Shiva? She was also there in Sarkar? Yes! That’s the one. Well, Ramu is a smart man and guess he foresaw the damage. So, to make up for it, he makes it a point to be the maiden’s chauffer, guide and guardian when he is in town. Really! It seems he picks her up from her house in the morning and drops her back at night. That is what you call service! Having a top director do that is something else altogether. But Nisha babykins, why don’t you try getting into more than just cameos of his flicks?

Geeta Basra

While some are trying hard to get this footing in tinsel town, there are others who are just trying to get their footings right! At a recent stage show to celebrate our 60 th independence day, we had stars warming the stage up for us. The funny part started when Ritiesh Deshmukh, Dia Mirza and Geeta Basra came on stage. They goofed up at a lot of places and were in general lost and clueless. It was so obvious that the three of them had to stay back after the show and do it again so they wouldn’t embarrass themselves on TV. When asked, Deshmukh and Basra were all candid and denied any great goof ups. Such things happen in show biz, you know. Besides, they were so busy with their movie commitments that they hardly had any time to rehearse. Right, we believe you guys!

Wow! This was a fun week. Hope to catch you again next week and I promise you, it only gets juicier and better!

Bored with his married life, Vishal while on a train journey meets Roma (Geeta Basra) who likewise is also trapped in a boring marriage. They soon embark on an adulterous extra martial affair. Time for Emran Hashmi to do what he does best.

All seems to be going fine in heaven Hashmi. Just then all hell breaks loose as there is some mysterious person who knows his secret and is bent on reveling it to Anjali. The film now turns a thriller as now all the energies of Vishal are concentrated on finding out the identity of blackmailer and stopping him from revealing Vishal’s secret liaison to Anjali and break his marriage.

There is nothing in the story, script or dialogues that has not been already written, said, or emoted on big screen in films concerning adulterous relationships. It is a rehash of all the Bollywood ingredients without a tight grip on the direction.

As far as acting goes all three major players disappoint. Emran must continue to do what he does best kissing and cavorting with women on screen and leave serious emotions to somebody else. And for Sayali Bhagat, modeling seems to be a better career option than films. For Geeta Basra a crash course in acting is what she needs and it might do something good to her non-existent acting skills.

However among the other lot of actors Aseem Merchant brings raw freshness to the screen and film altogether. Suresh Menon manages to raise few laughs but just about that. Ananath Mahadevan leaves an impression in his part.

When finally the element of suspense is revealed you realise that the movie is an Indian rehash of 2005 Hollywood capper “Derailed” starring Jennifer Anniston and Clive Owell. Watching the original Hollywood movies any day is a better idea then spending your money on an Indianised loose copy.

Cinematographer K.Raj Kumar has done an average job as he has mostly concentrated on Bangkok skyscrapers and shopping malls. Cannot blame him for that also – as there is nothing worthwhile in the movie to capture. Singer Mithoon is making his debut as music director with this movie. Music by Mithoon is fine. There are in total eleven songs in the movie. Out of eleven “Beete Lamhein” by K.K and “Who Ajnabee” by Mithoon and Shilpa Rao are good. Rest are okay.

The movie in all and all is a passable fare that would not do that well as expected always from an Emran Hashmi movie.

The Train also sees the debut of actor Sayali Bhagat, who plays Emraan’s wife. Did Geeta face competition from Sayali, as both are considered sex symbols? Geeta says, “No way, we have met only on a few occasions on the sets and we enjoyed working together. There is only one scene where they are together and that too in a song.” She adds “Kissing your co-star is also a part of your acting job”
