However, now producer Allu Arjun of Geetha Arts has decided to remake the film in Hindi with Hrithik Roshan in lead role. Allu Arjun has recently produced Aamir Khan starrer ‘Ghajini’ that topped the charts with abundant collections of Rs. 200 Crores within 2 weeks. Much impressed with Hrithik Roshan’s screen presence in ‘Jodha Akbar’, he has been opted to perform lead role.

‘Magadheera’ features Superstar Cheeranjivi’s son Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles.

The actor who has been supporting several causes recently had a life-changing experience while preparing for his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish.

Hrithik is playing a paraplegic in the film and in order to get into the character, he has been doing thorough research on the disorder to make sure he looks absolutely convincing.

Says a source close to the actor, “Hrithik is taking his role very seriously and has been reading up on paraplegia and watching videos to understand and study their mannerisms and behavior. In fact, he even visited several people affected by the disease to get a first hand account of their experiences.”

But while the process helped him hone his acting skills, it has also left a deep impact on his mind. So much so, that Hrithik is now actively taking part in helping people affected with paraplegia.

“The sensitive person that he is, the intensive study and frequent interactions with persons suffering from the disorder has moved Hrithik to a great extent. He came across some young, talented people who were left incapacitated due to paraplegia and immediately decided to his bit to help them.”

Pledging his solidarity to the cause, Hrithik has decided to help the affected persons monetarily as well as through any other means possible.

Now here’s one great actor who is also a great philanthropist!

Since when did you discover this stammering problem?

I was 6-year-old when I discovered that I have started to stammer. I don’t exactly remember what was the fear or the phobia, but it developed. Even today, I feel that there’s no proper definition of why and when this happens, but there is certainly a way out of it. Once I could not speak, but today I have found a way.

Were you ever teased for this in schools?

Yes, I was teased a lot for stammering. I use to feel like one of those handicaps, on whom people laughed, but I cannot blame them, as it was funny. I remember during my oral test exams, I use to bunk by giving reasons such as stomach ache or fever, as it was quite horrifying. My childhood days can be termed as hell.

Was it difficult for your parents to understand you?

They wanted to help, but didn’t know how. Sometimes you need to have knowledge. It was like after a certain point, I use to hear from my near and dear one that ‘Why can’t you do it…’ It was more pressurizing, but it’s not their fault. One needs to know how to deal with it, and then things will become easy.

Do you remember any embarrassing moment during your hard times?

It was when; I could not even tell that I want to become an actor, as I use to stammer a lot. That was the point when I felt that why doesn’t this ground cracks open and I go inside it.

How did you manage to over come this disability?

Basically its all about co-ordination of your jaw moves, lips, and your breath etc. I had to start from scratch, like A to Z. I use to keep repeating these alphabets and make sentences getting all you tongue and pallets in co-ordination. It was like an exercise for me doing it everyday. When I was 15, I realized that things are working with my tongue exercise. Till date, I do practice speech therapy for an hour in the night to get confidence.

How did you fall in love with Sussanne when you were a shy person during your college days?

The first time I met her was during the worst stage of the struggle in my life. I remember, once we went to Hotel Leela for a date and I had to order something, but I could not even utter a word. Though Sussanne understood, and she ordered for the both of us. It was the moment I fell for her, as she was the first girl in my life who made me feel comfortable at that point.

Hrithik had stammering problem; along side he developed back problem and recently knee problem… How did you get the strength to overshadow everything and yet stand tall?

I believe no experience is life is bad. You have one life, so aren’t you going to do something about it. Due to my back problem, I was bed ridden for a year, but then I realized that I don’t want to live like this and stood up. Life is all about sunrise to sunset, as you have to deal with a new set of problems every day. The one who is able to achieve what he or she thinks will be satisfied at the end of the day.

Also, I have recently opened an institute for speech therapy, where I am taking an initiative, and will do my best to help others facing the same problem.

“This is a charity foundation and it’s something that I wanted to do since a very long time. I have the power; God has given me a little extra, thus I am trying to do what I can from my side,” says Hrithik.

Not many people know that Hrithik himself had a stammering problem, but at that point there were only a few people to help him. “This is where I am trying to involve my self personally, and help people to cope up with the stress and pressure from the outside world,” he adds.

What message do you want to give through this foundation? “I want to convey to people that there is no harm in talking about your shortcomings. It doesn’t make you look ugly, as one should accept the fact and try to over come it. I did overcome my speech impediment and I am proud about the gift, which is given to me by God. I will see and try to help others too,” he concludes.

On the show Tere Mere Beach Main, Farah gave a cheque of Rupees1 lakh for the charity foundation of Hrithik. Well this is why they say charity begins at home. Great going Jr. Roshan!

Though Guzaarish went on floors from July 31st, Ash just recently joined them after coming back from Mani Ratnam’s Ravana shoot. Our unit sources reveal, “There was instant chemistry between the two as they caught up with each other after a long time. From their first shot together, they were right on cue.”

It is learnt that all their shots, which were rather intense, were canned in the first take itself, much to the delight of the director. And as soon as a dramatic scene would be wrapped up, the two would be cracking up about something they said to each other. “It’s their personal rapport that makes their acting seem so effortless on screen,” our source added.

Apparently Ash had also brought homemade food for the entire unit and was instrumental in making the sets cosy for everyone.

He is doing films ‘Jane Kaha Se Aayee Hai’ by Mukesh Talreja and Mastang by Nikhil Panchammiya. “I am playing a star in Jane…this film is inspired by Hrithik Roshan, as the actor in the film also becomes a star with his very first film. Film also stars Ritesh Deshmukh and Jacqueline Fernandes. It’s a romantic comedy,” said the actor on cloud nine.

Title of the film ‘Mastang’ means being 50 percent mast (happy) and 50 percent tang (sad). “It’s a comedy film that revolves around the mama-bhanja (uncle-nephew) jodi. I am playing a mama and bhanja is played by Slumdog fame Tanay Chheda,” he divulges. Jane kaha se these opportunities have come to him, but he is all mastang about it!

As per our sources, “There were many speculation on Hrithik-Barbara’s rapport with the film Kites. Media has been talking about it to the death. They even reported that Suzanne-Hrithik are splitting. Duggu was tired of all this speculations and thus, he decided to tattoo his wife’s name and prove to the world that they are still very much in love.”

In a recent interview to a newspaper, Hrithik’s sister Sunaina gave a statement that, “My brother may be a big flirt, but there is only one lady in his life and that’s Suzanne bhabhi. They love each other and there is no problem between the two.”

He further reveals, “Hrithik plays a paraplegic patient in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish. He is shown confined to a wheelchair mostly in the film with Aishwarya Rai playing nurse to him. Now to bring more perfection to his act, he has begun visiting a suburban Mumbai hospital almost every day to observe paraplegic patients. He mostly goes in during the early morning times when the hospital is less crowded and before the visitors start coming in. He has even started interacting with the patients there.”

Incidentally, Hrithik plays a radio jockey named Ethan in the film before he turns paraplegic, so we won’t be surprised if he starts visiting radio stations for the same soon

Directed by Karan Malhotra, a long time associate of Karan Johar, the film was long in talks with Hrithik Roshan being considered as the leading man for this cult classic, which propelled Amitabh Bachchan into super-stardom.

Recently, a lot of rumours were doing rounds as to who will star in the lead, as talks were on with both Hrithik and Abhishek Bachchan.

It was reported that Agneepath was one of Abhishek’s favourite films and he would love to fill in the shoes of his dad. Abhishek also mentioned, it was his dream to play one of his father’s characters and Agneepath was perhaps the best offer he could have expected.

And so, the producers approached Abhishek; as Hrithik who was the original choice, was unable to take up the role due to lack of dates.

But in a recent development, Hrithik has put Vishal Bharadwaj’s film on-hold, and gave a go ahead to Agneepath. Thereby, ending all hope for Abhishek Bachchan to follow in his dad’s footsteps.

Hrithik will start shooting for Agneepath, after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish, thereby postponing Vishal Bharadwaj’s film, which by the way was scripted specifically for Hrithik.

A 1990 blockbuster, Agneepath; was directed by Mukul S. Anand and produced by Karan’s father Yash Johar. The remake will be directed by Karan Malhotra one of Johar’s trusted lieutenants.

As per our sources, Roshan senior wanted to give his son Hrithik an international launch, by making Kites in English as well as Hindi. But he found no takers for Kites at the Cannes, as international buyers were not interested in an Indian film. Basically, that’s because Cannes is mainly a major market for Italian, Korean and French films.

Not deterred by his canned experience at Cannes, Roshan senior has moved on and is eyeing Hollywood to sell Kites. Now it’s reported that Roshan Sr. has shouldered the responsibility of striking a deal with Hollywood executives, and allotted 20 days from his schedule for this purpose.

With Kites still on the production floor and such rumors afloat, it surely would be very uncomforting for the Roshans to find an overseas market for the Film

Indian Cine’ Stars on Catwalk at IIFA Fashion Extravaganza 2009 in Macau. (Macau, June 13, 2009) — Some of India’s to film stars and celebrities modeled on the catwalk last night (June 12) for the country’s leading fashion designers at the IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) Fashion Extravaganza in Macau.

The glittering event at the Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel was part the 3-day Videocon IIFA Weekend, attracting a ‘Who’s Who’ of the Indian film industry. It was hosted by celebrity duo Zayed Khan and Sophie Choudhury, who looked stunning in Manav Gangwani creations.

Headlining the glamorous gathering was international singing sensation Peter Andre.

The star-studded night featured catwalk shows by leading Indian designers Rocky S, Manav Gangwani, Anamika Khanna and Farah Ali Khan — along with a new collection by Hong Kong designer Chris Chang.

Among the movie star models, Hrithik and Suzanne Roshan showcased striking yet feminine jewellery by Farah Ali Khan.

Chic Sonam Kapoor looked stunning in Anamika Khanna’s sexy, glamorous, edgy and stylish evening wear.

The ever-sophisticated Bipasha Basu elegantly modeled glamorous traditional wear by Rocky S, while Dia Mirza, Dino Morea and Madhavan modeled for Manav Gangwani, and Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mugdha Godse were show-stoppers for Siyaram.

Our sources reveal, “Hrithik will be the official face for the company’s mobile, data and DTH businesses. His new promotional campaign for the products is currently being shot in Bangkok and this new campaign is expected to break on air by beginning of June 2009. The new Reliance Mobile TV commercials with Hrithik Roshan will comprise of a series of 6-8 films capturing Hrithik using Reliance Mobile, which is considered India’s No 1 network.

Sources further reveal, “RCOM zeroed on Hrithik Roshan as he not only has a pan-India appeal but an iconic stature amongst today’s youth.”

The company’s official speaking on condition of anonymity informed that RCOM believes Hrithik is a perfect brand-fit for Reliance Mobile as he stands for everything that Reliance as a brand epitomizes.

One can recall, few weeks back there were rumour floating around that Hrithik’s wife Sussanne had left him and gone to stay with her parents doubting him having an affair with Barbara. Hrithik had clearly denied such a thing and so had his wife.

We saw the couple on Tuesday May 19th evening attending the Heroes Project and Mumbai District AIDS Control Society hosted 26th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial to reduce stigma and discrimination against those living with HIV. They arrived together and throughout the event and also on stage were together and left together. Had there been problems especially after watching the clips of Cannes then it would have definately been evident at the event last night. But there appeared no single sign of discomfort between the two as they looked a very much in love couple.

We just hope a certain section of the media finally shuts its mouth and stop creating unnecessary controversy disturbing the Roshan family’s peace of mind
