Elaborating one such incident, our khabroo from the sets revealed that, “There was a particular Bhangra group called Sukh Sagar and they really performed well. One of the members from the group Pradeep has left his job to be in the show.”

“After hearing this Ritesh came on stage on requested on national TV to his office members to take Pradeep back. He also stated that this guy is pride of your firm,” adds the source.

At the end he performed with the group. “Ritesh and Annu joined this bhangra group on stage and had a gala time,” concludes the source.

Jaane Kaha Se Aaye… is a film where Ritesh plays an assistance director to Farah Khan. Accompaning him is Vishal Malhotra who essays the role of his best friend. Whilein Aladdin Riteish may be seen as the lead with Amitabh Bachchan as his genie.

Well the question still remains that will a costume drama work in this age?

When asked the reason for coming in the show he uttered, “Entertainment is the name and I am here to for the grand finale episode. People come here with lots of expectation to capture the attention and do various stuff. I am here to see that.”

What can you do to entertain our audience in one minute? “You need to be talented to capture the imagination of the audience in one minute. I am really not that talented to do so,” he adds further.

Informs a source who had a dekko at the film, “The makers have so far kept this as a secret but the fact is that Riteish has a substantial role in the film. Of course Jackky Bhagnani is the film’s lead but Riteish too has a fantastic role of an underworld don.”

Elaborating more on Riteish’s presence in the film, she adds, “His character is that of someone who is fun loving. He keeps making on and off appearance in the film and brings in a different dimension to the narrative each time around. He is someone who is pretty money minded.”

Vashu Bhagnani, producer of ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’, too confirms around Riteish’s presence and says, “Yes, Riteish has an extended guest appearance in the film but that’s all I can say for now. Anything more would spoil the fun.”

On contacted, the man in picture – Riteish Deshmukh – was initially hesitant to talk about the film.

“I am not too sure how much should I be revealing about my role in the film. I don’t know if you can call it a special appearance or an extended guest appearance or anything of that sort. I am yet to see the final cut of how much of me is actually present in the film”, he says.

On being prodded further, he reluctantly adds, “This character was primarily conceived by my director Vivek Sharma and I primarily followed his vision. Whatever I have done in the movie, it is completely as per Vivek’s instructions. I merely copied him.

The countdown has begun with as the stars of Bollywood have already started to make their presence felt in Macau for IIFA Awards 2009. Last night many of the biggies from the industry flew to the event.

The list includes David Dhawan, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi, Aushtosh Gowarikar, Shyam Shroff, Ritesh Siddhwani and Boman Irani. Junior Bachchan with Ash too was on the roll. Another jodi Zayed Khan with wife Malika will also grace the occasion.

Sonam Kapoor after celebrating her birthday with the family flew for the awards. The list continues with some handsome hunks like Ritesh Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, Ranbir Kapoor.

The sexy seren of B town were also seen on the airport. Sushmita Sen, Anushka Sharma, Lara Dutta are the few names. Not much seen Neelam seemed to be too excited for the award function while catching up the flight for the award.

The event had a brilliant performance by the Blind Man’s Band – a band in which every member is blind, accompanied by Vijay Prakash, the critically acclaimed singer of songs like Manmohini from the movie Yuvraaj. Mind-blowing acts and audio visuals showed the audience how blind and deaf children can recognise currency and people, and can operate the computer, travel in local trains and change platforms without any help, have jobs in offices… all this without being able to see, hear or speak!

The enthralling performances by Shiamak Davar himself who not only danced but sang straight from his heart, soulful acts by Riteish Deshmukh and Mallaika Arora Khan and energetic performances by Hrishita Bhatt and Gen-Next of Bollywood, Shubh left the audience wanting for more. However, the show- stoppers were undoubtedly the Helen Keller Institute children who had the talent and drive and got an opportunity to prove that `We Can’!

The audience was left literally awe-struck by a never seen before gymnastic performance by Raj Bhasvar, the Indian American who won a gold medal in the gymnastics category for the USA in the Beijing Olympics of 2009.

Shiamak not only surpassed himself with the heart rendering tribute act from the much-acclaimed film Black, but also moved the audience to tears.

The audience had eminent personalities from all walks of life come together to support this cause. Among them were, theatre guru Alyque Padamsee with wife Sharon and his daughter. Shaina NC was seen rpt in attention with and the Hon Home Minister of Maharashtra, Jayant Patil his wife Shailaja, incidentally whose birthday it also was. As a warm gesture, the audience wished her a happy birthday in true Helen Keller style –in sign language. Vikram Phadnis too came along to witness this unique triumph of the Human Spirit. Ex-SDIPA student RJ Tarana kept the audience engaged. Roopali Ganguli came and made her presence felt by personally meeting each one from Shiamaks team and telling them what a wonderful experience it was.

Moved with the response the people had to her children, Beroz Vacha, the founder member of the Helen Keller Institute stated, “These children are not limited, it’s us who are limited in our thinking. They do not need our pity, they need an opportunity. We are very thankful to Shiamak, Showstuff and Provogue and all the others involved who have taken it up to create these pioneering opportunities and create the awareness which is the need of the hour!”

“In fact I had to curb Riteish’s excitement because the moment he knew that ‘Aladin’ was soon going to be a reality, he was jumping up and down at the very thought of it. He went on and on saying ‘Write it, write it, write it NOW!’”, fondly remembers Sujoy who has cast Riteish (his first choice in fact) in the title role of ‘Aladin’

Sujoy was in fact amused with Riteish’s amusement and even reminded him that he had recently delivered a flop in ‘Home Delivery’.

“I tried to tell him that ‘Dude I just had a flop film’. But then he wasn’t listening. He was just rolling on the floor with laughter and stated – “Yes. And with that you have added another flop to MY career, so now you owe me a hit”, says Sujoy.

Not many are aware that Riteish had featured in a ‘blink and you would miss’ appearance in ‘Home Delivery’ which was mainly a Vivek Oberoi starrer.

“Looking at Riteish’s enthusiasm about doing the film, I could draw parallels with one of those kids whom you would take to the zoo but bring back because there is no empty cage”, quips Sujoy.

Meanwhile Vishal and Shekhar, the composer duo who would be creating a hat trick with Sujoy after ‘Jhankaar Beats’ and ‘Home Delivery’, were on board in quick time as well. However, this too didn’t take place before a friendly banter between them.

“They were cool with the idea of ‘Aladin’ but wanted to know whether the songs composed by them would be filmed or not and that too in full. Even though I promised them that it will certainly be the case, they reminded me of ‘Home Delivery’ where that hadn’t turned out to be the case. They gave me a stare and grumbled that they didn’t believe me, but then I knew from the bottom of my heart that they would stick around; which they eventually did. They are my brothers and even if I walk on fire, they will walk with me. Yes, it happens only in India and I am proud to have such friends”, says an emotionally charged Sujoy.

Starring Amitabh Bachchan as Genius – The Genie, Ritiesh Deshmukh as Aladin and Sanjay Dutt as a cool villain, ‘Aladin’ also marks the debut of Sri Lankan beauty Jackie Fernandez who is paired opposite Ritiesh. ‘Aladin’ is produced by Eros International in association with Sujoy Ghosh’s production company Boundscript.

Just few days back they got clicked by photographers while attending Tusshar Kapoor’s bash separately but leaving together in Ritesh’s car hand in hand and also recently during the Lakme Fashion Week party. But the pictures got splashed in newspapers and websites which it seems left Ritesh embarrassed. His traditional parents it seems are opposed to his affair with Genelia and Ritesh on his part is trying hard not to hurt them yet not letting go off his relationship with Genelia.

For a long time Ritesh was avoiding meeting her in Mumbai after Tusshar Kapoor’s party incident. Genelia too had then left for Hyderabad for shooting Hook Ya Crook. Perhaps missing her for long, he went of to Hyderabad with the excuse of meeting his Do Knot Disturb director David Dhawan who is also directing Hook Ya Crook.

Our source reveals, “On the film’s sets when Genelia came around where David and Ritesh were talking, Ritesh exchanged just a formal ‘Hello’ and completely ignored her as if she didn’t even exist. But on the same evening the couple was seen having dinner together at a Hyderabad star restaurant.”
