Jalota launches music company to promote amateur singers

We will be producing albums for those talented singers,” Agarwal, who is known for his devotional poetry, told reporters here. (more…)

After a soulful rendition of “Maula mere maula” for the movie “Anwar”, Rathod has sung another Sufi song titled “Teri justajoo” that he says is an extension of the previous one. “‘Teri Justajoo’ is a Sufi song and has been compiled by music director Kuldip Singh’s son Harpreet. Badal writes to PM for probe into Ishmeet’s death

Chandigarh, Aug 6 (IANS) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal Wednesday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to order an inquiry into the mysterious death of Ludhiana-based budding singer Ishmeet Singh. Ishmeet, 19, who won the “Voice of India” reality TV show featuring a singing contest in November last year, died July 29 by drowning in the swimming pool of a resort in the Maldives where he had gone to attend an event. UTV to make biopic on Kishore Kumar

Amit, in the presence of Kishore’s wife Leena Ganguly and younger son Sumit Kumar, said the film would portray all his real-life incidents from beginning till his death. (more…)

And the film fraternity believes the singer-actor would have been a hit with audiences even today. Most Bollywood personalities agree that Kishore Kumar was ahead of his time.
