Urmila Matondkar: The daughter of a lecturer, actress Urmila Matondkar began her celluloid career as a child artiste with the film Kalyug (1980). Although an average film at the box-office, her next film, Masoom (1983), about a family coping with an illegitimate member, showed her acting talents blossom and she received critical acclaim from both her fans and the film fraternity. Urmila Matondkar claimed to have turned 35 on February 4. Now the once upon a time oomph queen claims to being just 35. But there are many who are surprised by her claim. In 1983 when ‘Masoom’ came, Urmila was about 12 and older than Jugal Hansraj and looked very much like his older step sister. Jugal is 36 now and that makes Urmila almost 37 or 38. (more…)

It doesn’t happen every year that as many as three women find a place in Top-10 Bollywood villains/vamps. Also, in the times when feel good cinema and comedies are ruling the roost, there are hardly many films being made where an actor gets an opportunity to bring in some villainy on screen.
