Subramaniam to be held on 29th of January 2008 is all set to rock the capital Delhi with its various unique blends of music traditions by legends of Indian Music under the one roof.
Laksminarayana Global Music Festival & ICCR Presents “Visions of India†– a tribute to the nation gives us a glimpse of Indian Music in its entirety. Conceived, written and composed by Dr. L. Subramaniam. This exceptional program will incorporate various styles of music from different parts of the country to remember Dr. L. Subramaniam’s father Late. Laksminarayana. This is the first time that a blend of different traditional styles including colorful folk traditions is being brought together on one platform along with Classical music, Bollywood Music and Fusion.

Besides Dr. L. Subramaniam, Visions of India will also feature celebrated artists like; Dr. Balamuralikrishna, Purna Das Baul, Pankaj Udhas, Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam, Wadali Brothers, Sikander Langa, his talented daughter Bindu Seetaa Subramaniam and Son Ambi Subramaniam. This special composition will be supported by Keyboards, Guitar, Bass, Drums and Indian Percussion. Adding to the musical experience, Visions of India is also a unique visual treat with each artist colorfully representing the part of India he/ she hails from.
It is set to medley of modern and traditional instruments; hence this festival is going to attract attention of both class and mass populace. Renowned artists are performing in this festival. Visions of India’ incorporates Carnatic (South Indian Classical), Hindustani (North Indian Classical), Bollywood (Hindi Film), Ghazal, Baul (Folk from Bengal), Langa (Folk from Rajasthan), Punjabi Folk and Sufi Music Fusion.
Dr. L Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurthy
Dr. Subramaniam has amassed over 150 recordings to his credit, releasing several historic solo albums, recording collaborations with musicians Yehudi Menuhin, Stephane Grappelli, Ruggiero Ricci and Jean Pierre Rampal, further to making albums and performing with Steven Seagal, Ruggiero Ricci, Herbie Hancock, Joe Sample, Jean-Luc Ponty and several others.
He has been accompanied on stage by highly regarded instrumentalists of Indian Classical Music. Dr. Subramaniam has written works for orchestras, ballets and Hollywood film scores, and written books on music- such as Euphony- in addition to composing symphonys and Carnatic pieces.
