It’s time once again for Hard Rock Cafe to rock for a cause. Pinktober~ 2008, Hard Rock’s signature Breast Cancer Awareness program, embarks on its 9th consecutive year of raising awareness and funds for breast cancer charities around the globe. Hard Rock will donate proceeds from the sale of special limited-edition 2008 Hard Rock Pinktober merchandise to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. At the auction Jackie outbid this time and bought the guitar for Rs 1, 15,000 – the guitar has signatures by the Rock on team.
As a part of the Pinktober initiative in India, Hard Rock Cafe Mumbai has partnered with the Women’s Cancer Initiative-Tata Memorial Hospital (WCI-TMH) to promote breast cancer awareness and end Pinktober on an encouraging note. The WCI-TMH founded by Ms. Devieka r Bhojwani & Dr. K.A. Dinshaw, is one of the leading organizations in the country, working on treatment, education and research in the field of cancer.
Feel the Pinktober magic at Hard Rock Cafe this October with Think Pink Limited Edition Tshirts from the WCI-TMH which are currently available at Hard Rock’s signature Rockshop, as well as a special live event hosted on October 30th furthering Hard Rock’s zeal for rock music and their dedication to the cause. During the event, there will be an auction of a guitar sponsored by Epiphone which will be signed by the stars of the film Rock On! – Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny and Purab. All proceeds from the sale of the Think Pink T-shirts and the auctioned guitar will be forwarded to the WCI-Tata Memorial Hospital, in order to aid the research facility. The Other People will be performing to commemorate the event and belt out an eclectic repertoire of soft rock, rock ‘n’ roll, reggae and blues.
