Jiah Khan, Nina Manuel, Arpita Khan, Kailash Surendranath at Falguni and Shane Peacock event on 10th Feb 2009.
Mumbai, February 10, 2009: When Downing Street invites the most influential figures of the British Fashion industry to a party at their place; it must be a reason to celebrate. The occasion? Twenty Five years of the London Fashion Week, or the LFW as we know it, Twenty Five years of the British Fashion Council and Twenty Five years of hard work to create an industry with more than £40 billion and a bi-annual event worth £100 million to the London economy. Not a bad reason to pop a champagne cork or two. But the INDIAN connection?
One of the most creative talents in India, Falguni & Shane Peacock will be showcasing their Autumn-Winter 09 Collection at the London Fashion Week. And yes, that is a reason to celebrate! The champagne was popped at Henry Tham, one of Mumbai’s most fabulous bar cum restaurants! The guests arrived in their Rolls Royce, BMWs, Audis and Mercedes. Jiah Khan, Nina Manuel, Arpita Khan swayed to the music & enjoyed the scrumptious Salt Pepper Prawns, Spicy Veg Dimsums, and Black Pepper Chicken while the champagne, vodka and the cocktails flowed freely.
Falguni & Shane Peacock love to dress their woman in ultra feminine and glamorous clothes. The brand is synonymous to high luxury prêt, resort and evening wear. The Peacock label focuses on dresses that are dreamy, romantic, youthful and with a strong sense of color. The label epitomizes chic and glamour with fluid silks that blend into animal prints with complex textures. Embroidery is an integral part of Peacock couture and is used lavishly often incorporated with gems and crystals or the extravagant use of diamantes to accentuate necklines with feathers and semiprecious stones.
The label is also known for its unique and exotic prints, motifs of flowers, leaves splashed on animal prints detailed with ostrich feathers and ornate beading for that ultra luxurious Peacock look.
