ANOTHER ‘LITTLE MASTER’ Sometimes words fail us; when confronted with breathtaking beauty. Rekha K Rana ‘s exhibition was one such show. A PhD in painting from Banaras Hindu University; Dr. Rekha K Rana is a gold medalist in Bachelor of Fine Art; and her technique is so strong ad vision so powerful; that the two lovely ladies, Manisha Koirala and Minissha Lamba couldnt stop admiring them.
Said Minissha , ” her work is a visual delight; a showcase of rustic India to the world; truly masterful ; my mother used to paint rural landscapes so, I had a reference point from my childhood where I could admire her work.”
The very young Rekha K Rana, exuded such utter simplicity at the show that the brilliance of her work was only enhanced further. Manisha Koirala, looking angelic in white, said ” Rekha captures unpolished rural energy on canvas; lays out the bold strokes and applies colour with tremendous character! Everything is a subject; the village Ram Leela, wood-crafted instruments; tribals learning archery; the natural play of drums; the dense jungle slowly making way for roads; I am blown away with this masterful display.”
Artistes Ananya Banerjee, Daxa Khandwala, and Madhusudan Kumar dropped by.While Ananya was vocal about her praise, Daxa was gracious to acknowledge that Rekha’s works (acrylic on canvas) are masterpieces and young Rekha Rana could well and truly deserve the title “a little master’’ among contemporary artistes.
Nothings more important than the respect of your own peers. A must watch show. Jehangeir (Hirji)
