Mohomed and Lucky Morani Anniversary – Eid Party last night at Escobar

The Moranis threw a glittering bash to celebrate their Wedding Anniversary as well as the festival of Eid. The fact that their “big” day coincided with the holy festival this year, certainly makes the sprightly couple “lucky”!

With the air abuzz with excitement and merry cheer, the venue pulsated with the presence showbiz celebs in all their glory. The party was co-hosted by Wardhaman,Rishab and Sahil Chowksi.While Mohomed Morani looked dapper in a white waist coat, Lucky Morani dazzled in an elaborate and elegant ensemble. Dressed in a designer black Sari coupled with a three layered maang teeka; Lucky looked radiant as she played the perfect host. Mohomed’s brothers, Karim and Aly were present along with their wives; adding to the “family quotient”.Lucky had the presence of her brothers Mazhar and Abrar Nadiadwala.

In attendance were Ranjit, Shekhar Suman, Jacky Shroff, Ramesh and Anu Mody, Raell Padamsee,Danny Denzongpa, Vindoo Dara Singh, Anup Jalota, Dalip Tahil and Rohit Roy amongst others. Juhi Chawla came to celebrate the joyous occasion along with her husband Jay Mehta. The three Dusanj sisters Parveen,Suki and Nin came in tow while ace Photographer, Salamatt Hussain, the Grandson of the legendary MF Husain was seen letting his hair down for a change instead of working his magic behind the camera. Ghazal maestro Talat Aziz came with his wife, Bina. Sahil Shroff arrived with Tanaaz Bhatia to partake in the festive atmosphere. Designer Azeem Khan came dressed in a red pants with a track suit jacket. Also seen were Alex O’Neill, Udita Goswami and Farzana Contractor.Also present were Farhan Furniturewala with wife Laila Khan

As the evening wore on, the buoyant mood was further uplifted by the camaraderie, great food, beverages and the steady flow of the many guests who continued to stream in. Singer Anushka Manchanda dropped by to wish the Moranis along with her father, Deepak Manchanda; after a hectic day which saw her perform at a concert in Bandra, post which she went to attend a recording session in Malad and then eventually make her way back to Bandra for the party! Lots of costume changes in one evening for this stylish girl!

TV Actor Karanvir Bohra came sporting a spunky ponytail along with his wife, Teejay Sidhu. Singer Shibani Kashyap too came by looking every bit the cute diva that she is. Ace Composer, Salim Merchant was joined by his lovely wife, Jeanne in wishing the Moranis. Suleman was accompanied by his wife Reshma,Payal Rohatgi arrived with her wrestler boyfriend on her arm, Sangram Singh.

There were loud cheers as a huge bottle of fine, gold hued Moet Champagne was brought out in a golden coloured cage case. The atmosphere reached a crescendo as all the guests broke out into spontaneous congratulatory gestures and loud celebrations as the happy couple cut an elaborately made white floral marzipan chocolate cake. The song “Congratulations and Celebrations” played in the background. Champagne glasses were raised in toasts as the guests burnt phuljharis to commemorate the occasion, adding more colour and light to the already colourful evening! The festivities took yet another upward turn when the Sufi Singer, Altamish gave a brilliant rendition of “Naino Mein Saangh Saweray”, dedicated to the lovely Lucky Morani.

This was then followed by a sumptuous dinner which included varieties of Tapas and Pizzas to choose from. The heading on the menu had the words “Happy Anniversary Lucky and Mohomed Morani” proudly emblazoned on it. The guests enjoyed the great food on offer in the dining area which was tastefully done up with a celestial theme. Hence, they dined quite literally “under the stars” with lasers and lights lending it a galaxy like feel beneath the starry sky. The guests then took to the dance floor with gusto and grooved to the latest Bollywood hits; into the night. Sonu Nigam with wife Madhurima hit the dance floor as DJ Stetson rocked the party..

On the whole, it was a delightful evening that brought people together to not just celebrate the spirit of Eid and brotherhood, but also the powerful emotion of love between two individuals!
