Mr Universe comes to India for a Second Stint this November, 2011 This is 65th Year of this premier body building event. Mumbai October 24, 2011: Indian Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (IBBF) had officially announced a Press Conference for their upcoming event Mr. Universe 2011. Dignitaries present in the conference were Hon. Gen. Secretary of IBBF Mr. Sanjay More, Ganpat Shelar of UTEX, the organizers for Mr. Universe 2011and the contestants participant who is representing Maharastra are Suhas M Khamkar, Ashish Sawarkar, Mandar Chavarkar, Sachin Patil and Deepak K Tripathi.
Indian Body Building & Fitness Federation is the body to host the event for India & Indian youth. Comments the Hon. Gen. Secretary of IBBF Mr. Sanjay More, “it is indeed a very proud moment for us to bring this event to Mumbai once again. Since the first Mr. Universe event in 2003, Indians have become very conscious about Body Building and health. Now our effort is to increase the awareness about building a better and healthier young India.”
Suhas M Khamkar, who has participated in Mr. Universe contest 2011, has already made India proud by winning a title of Mr. India that too seven times, Mr. Asia 2010 and also secured 6th position in Mr. World 2010. He comments that “We need sponsors and supports from cooperates to make India more proud on International Arena”. Each bodybuilder at least needs RS 75000 investment to maintain his muscles and body as to fit enough to participate in such contest.
Mr. Universe 2011 will be held in Mumbai from November 3rd to 7th. There are more than 400 entries from more than 90 different countries for the contest. Show is organized by Indian Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation. It is the second time that India will be hosting the event for international Title Mr. Universe in Mumbai. First time it was in the year 2003 that India played host to such a reputed and highly rated Global Event. It had put India as a strong country on the international bodybuilding map.
The World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships (formerly IFBB Mr. Universe) is a male bodybuilding contest organized by the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (IFBB). First it was first held in the year 1959. Since then the event has come a long way, creating a perfect brand enroute. In fact this title of Mr. Universe is an essential stepping stone for professional body builders today.
