India’s premier design & lifestyle company Good Earth’s annual design collection Farah Baksh has been inspired by the Kashmiri Heritage and its sophisticated design sensibilities. The collection is an eclectic mix of cushion covers, dinnerware, centerpieces, bed linen and apparel. With Kashmir heritage being the crux of the design concept, the collection is expected to be a mainstay at the Good Earth stores for the next one year, with new design launches every month.Goodearth’s design team intensively researched Kashmiri culture and have been awe struck by the beauty of the valley; hence as an extension to the design collection, they put together vivid memories and design inspirations into a fabulous journal.
The launch also coincided with the Arastan exhibition which was a part of the India Design Forum 2013 and also an eclectic photo exhibition by Sunhil Sippy. The exhibition will be open to all from Wednesday 13th March 2013 at Goodearth, Raghuvanshi Mills, Lower Parel.
The journal shares the stories of the people and places that inspired our designs. We’ve included the legacy of favourite mughals, architectural sketches, a recipe for saffron tea and many verses of poem. Speaking on the launch of the design journal, Beenu Bawa- Director, Goodearth says “Creating this collection was such a joy, that we wanted to share our experience of Kashmir… So we’ve created a journal that tells that story through our design eyes. In these pages you will discover our inspirations, process and journey… We hope the journal will inspire your own reflections and be a place to record your personal journey”. The Journal will be available for sale at all Goodearth stores across the country from March 13th 2013 onwards.
