‘Rolling Stone MasterClass’ presents Apple Amplify. Loy conducts music composition Mac workshop at iStore in Mumbai
Mumbai, November 10, 2008: ‘iStore by Reliance Digital’, ‘Amplifly Your Music’ and Rolling Stone magazine have joined hands to organize a series of Mac-based music workshops under the banner of ‘Rolling Stone MasterClass’. The first workshop in the series was conducted in Mumbai’s iStore at Warden Road, by Loy Mendonsa, the famous music composer of the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio – who are today amongst Bollywood’s most successful team of contemporary music directors.
Loy, known for his music prowess on the electronic synthesizer, conducted the music and technology Mac workshop offering the participants a fantastic opportunity to learn the intricacies of compositions on Mac Softwares and Mac notebooks to create, edit and compose music. On the occasion, music personalities like Ehsaan Noorani, Hard Kaur, Gary Lawyer, Uday Benegal, Luke Kenny and Aditya Hitkari were present and seen engaging with Loy and his son Shane to further create meaningful compositions using Apple’s hardware and operating systems. The evening also saw young aspiring musicians interacting with Loy on tips and tricks on producing great music with Apple product.
‘Amplify Your Music’ by Rolling Stone is an exceptional platform, where the audience can interact with renowned musicians and rediscover their hidden talent with Mac Softwares. For example, training on the Garage Band will help you turn your Mac into a musical instrument, so, you don’t need to be an experienced musician or a professional to have a complete recording studio at your fingertips. You can also hook up an actual instrument like a guitar on the Mac Book Pro and create a tune. Mac softwares like Magic Garage Band and Logic Studio are extensively used by some of the best names in the music industry such as Loy Mendonca, Ehsaan Noorani (Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy fame), Gino Banks, A.R. Rehmaan and many more.
“The idea is to provide a platform whereby both amateurs and aspiring professionals can interact and learn from the experience of the established stars. These workshops are part of Rolling Stone India’s philosophy of supporting the burgeoning Indian rock music scene,” said Radhakrishnan Nair, Publisher & Editor of Rolling Stone India.
