 
The Show must go on Vaishali Sagar’s 3rd mega musical dance drama ‘Gene & I’ was a sold out show. Performance by 250 young girls received standing ovation at Bhaidas Sabhagrih in Juhu. Last one to perform was Vaishali Sagar herself and once her own performance was over, hall was filled with the cheers of kids shouting ‘we love you mam’ and clapping lustily. When we asked Vaishali about the absence of celebrities, she equipped, “It is the day of these kids. I want them to take the entire limelight. With celebrities around, focus shifts.” In fact Vaishali had lost her Grand Father the same morning but thinking about the efforts of small girls, she had come to the function and carried the show through with a smile fixed on her face. She showed the true spirit of ‘the Show Must Go On.’
“THE GENIE AND I” was based on very naughty girl who is in the 5th grade. Her name is Aanya. She hates everything about her current life, her parents, her friends, her school, in short everything. She wants to travel the world and see various dances. To her pleasure she stumbles upon a genie who agrees to make all her wishes come true. Thus began the journey into her fantasy. She lands up witnessing dance forms like Russian Folk, Hawaiian Hula, Mexican Mariachi , Serbian Ribbon Dance, Hip Hop, Ballroom Sequence, Afro, Brazilian Carnival, Bollywood, Fusion and eventually ‘The dance of hope’ performed by Vaishali and few other girls.
Vaishali Sagar, daughter-in-law of Anand sagar, has been running her dance school Kalanjay since the past 11 years. KALANJAY, with strength of 450 students, specializes in teaching Indian Folk Dance, wherein the Students give Government recognized exams each year through the highly acclaimed SUR JHANKAR ACADEMY. Along with the folk dance, the students also learn western, popular and fusion style of dancing. Before this show, Kalanjay had its first show called “ALL ABOUT US” in 2006, its second show for its junior students called “AND THE AWARD GOES TO” was in 2008. In July 2008, KALANJAY represented India in an international folk festival organized by UNESCO in Italy and Austria. KALANJAY was the only dance school to receive a standing ovation in the festival.
