Mandira Wirk presents ‘Nights in Whites’ Collection at Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2012. Mumbai, 15 September 2012: Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2012 (AVIBFW 2012) in association with Azva is the six day Fashion event for presenting the best trends in wedding fashion. This event saw a stunning collection showcased by Mandira Wirk called ‘Nights in Whites’ on 15th September 2012 at the Grand Hyatt.

The collection draws inspiration from English brides and ensures romanticism persists and pervades, but also leans towards playful, bold and a glamorous look. Doing complete justice to the collection was Malaika Arora Khan who was the showstopper for the evening and looked stunning in Mandira Wirk’s elegant white gown.

What makes this collection sophisticated is the subtle application, the spectacular crystals which add a very delicate romantic allure. Lot of layering with foil printed organza, mechanical pleated nets and crumpled satins is the highlight of the collection. Origami and ribbon embroidery with soft bows, chiffon drapes and thigh-high slits with a magnificent veil and self-affirming extension of the dress helps complete the look.

The color story starts with fresh ivories to muted silver going down to powder hues of aqua’s, lilacs, lemons, apricots and rose pinks, taking me to the time where the bride holds a bouquet of assorted beautiful seasonal flowers’’.
The collection sums up by offering strapless full skirted ball gowns, slim evening dresses with tight pleating, one shouldered tulle gowns with stunning trails and body hugging shifts. Drop waist accented with satin ribbons and floral details. What separates one from another is the characteristic of a neckline, the presence or absence of sleeve, the length of the trail and the occasional cape.
