Mughal Empress Kangana Ranaut truly looked empress as she walked for Manav Gangwani showcase Begum-e-Jannat at the FDCI India Couture Week 2016 today. The event was hosted at Lodhi hotel. Kangana’s beautiful curls completed her regal look with minimal make-up.

In every inch Kangana looked a Mughal empress in a maroon choli! Kangana Ranaut donned a maroon choli, with mirror work, that was paired with a heavily embroidered lehenga and mesh dupatta. He used fabrics such as luxurious silk velvet, sheer gauzy tissues, regal silk and tulle sprinkled with shimmering mirror work.

Manav Gangwani has styled many celebrities like Hrithik Roshan, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga and Eric Clapton. His collection, which made many emotional including actress-social activist Nafisa Ali, was an to ode Gangwani’s friend Zainab Nedou Patel, who was from Kashmir and passed away recently.

Speaking about his collection, Begum-e-Jannat is an amalgamation of sentiments evoked by the word ‘Jannat’ which means paradise. Every garment in this collection is disguised as a visual piece of paradise to be owned and cherished. The collection also strives to reinvent the age-old silhouette of the Angrakha, which literally translates to a body protection. This is a crossover open silhouette that is feminine while retaining its royal demeanor.

The show played music by Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash, the models sashayed down the ramp in pieces from the grand collection, which saw intricate work of zardozi.

Manav Gangwani’s Begum-e-Jannat, show saw about 70 handcrafted silhouettes that captured the era of the Mughals and the royal age effortlessly with flowing kaftans, flamboyant saris, intricately designed lehengas  and classic sherwani in shades of ivory, maroon, black, green, navy and white.
