CTI (Cita Tenun Indonesia / Indonesia’s woven clothes association) hosted a glamorous evening in the city today. They organized an exhibition followed by a fashion show to promote traditional Indonesian woven cloth, which is also one of the traditional cloths used by Indonesia’s top fashion designers.
The collection at the fashion show consisted of designs from two of Indonesia’s most famous designers – Chossy Lattu and Denny Wirawan . CTI’s efforts to promote Indonesian culture world over was evident from the way the program was staged with an Indonesian ambience seen in the decorations, food, music, drinks and their traditional folk dances such as Rampai Aceh, Lenggang Nyai, Lenso.
They also showcased their traditional form of music instrument, Angklung and were extremely interactive with the audience, giving them a chance to play the with the orchestra! To grace this occasion along with the Head of CTI Mrs Okke Hatta Rajasa was the Ambassador of Indonesia for India Andi Ghalib with his lovely wife.
The collections from the noted designers from Indonesia were displayed by Indian models such as Nethra Raghuraman, Deepti Gujral, Bhavna Sharma, Tapur Chatterjee, Monikangana Dutta, Dipanita Sharma to name a few. Both designers have been genuinely inspirted through deep exploration of the richness and beauty of woven cloths in the archipelago. There designs are famous for combining woven cloths with unique processing and style that always manage to draw Indonesia’s fashionista.
CTI’s prime mission is to preserve woven cloth deep to be rare on the verge of extinction. CTI’s initiative has been to provide assistance to the woven cloth weavers with training and development to increase production and market expansion, both at home and overseas. There objective is to make Indonesia the central market for woven cloths. To grace this occasion renowned
