JAYA MISRA’S UTSAV COLLECTION MADE A FABULOUS IMPACT AT THE AAMBY VALLEY INDIA BRIDAL WEEK 2010
It was a time to celebrate on the 240 ft ramp split into five levels at the Tropical Lagoon of the Sahara Star Hotel at the Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2010 when Jaya Misra unveiled her ‘Utsav’ collection inspired by the movie Utsav
starring the ever green Rekha.
.
For the most important days in a girl’s life, Jaya had a line of bridal couture with not only luxurious fabrics but exquisite craftsmanship. Using soft delicate pastel tones, Jaya added on some bold hues and prints which were unconventional as
traditional and contemporary touches gave a high fashion twist to the ensembles. To the strains of music composed specially for the show, the colours, fabrics, designs and embellishments played a beautiful symphony on the catwalks.
Saris, lehengas, salwars, kurtas, dresses and gowns had an interesting blend of the east and west in the form of silhouettes which will give the most fastidious bride ample choice.
Jaya opened the show with award winning dancer and TV star, Kashmira Shah in a delicate pale pink lehenga with blue net dupatta to set the mood for her Utsav collection. Soon Sonalika floated down the catwalk in a tulle floral embroidered
gown with sheer midriff and long trail. For Shonal it was a blue crepe sari with checkered border. Paneled and frilled lehengas with tiny cholis were a beautiful sight in the collection.
On to the green section there was Anjali in a pale sari with a generous silver edge, the cut out blouse on Iris was a sensuous design, while the full flared kurti in beige net and Walushcha’s beige brocade tulle paneled skirt were pretty additions.
The green and red segment turned more ornate with singing nightingale Shibani Kashyap walking the ramp in a red ornate lehenga with a green velvet choli and odhani. Deepti’s crystal work choli, Shamita’s pre-stitched red sari gown with
silver mesh pallav and Candice in green crystal lehenga with red net dupatta ended this dual toned part.
The all red line opened with Sanae in a one shoulder sexy red kurta set while Sonalika was stunning in a red tiered net and silk gown.
Gracefully ending the show was Tulip Joshi star of Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi wearing a luxuriously embellished red lehenga with a wine velvet choli and net dupatta.
Luxury was redefined by Jaya Misra for her ‘Utsav’ collection and it was a celebration of the best of bridal wear that any bride can dream of.
