Australian percussionist Ben Walsh is set to perform in the Indian capital in October.
He will be here for his new solo live show, Remix Experiment, presented by the Australian High Commission in collaboration with online music magazine Wild City.
Walsh — best known for founding the live drum and bass act The Bird in the late 1990s — will perform on October 8 at Bandstand here, before moving to Jodhpur to play at Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF), read a statement.
His latest project is a multi-media wall of sound and vision, and features a confluence of jazz-infused heavy basslines, and modern technology conceived by the 40-year-old.
At Jodhpur RIFF, he will meet up with Rajasthani percussionists – on the dholak, the khartal, the dhol – for a concert called RIFF Robust.
Walsh, who had earlier performed in cities like Mumbai and Chennai, last did a five-city India tour in June 2013.
