Child artistes Damanpreet Singh and Tunisha Sharma have been finalised for upcoming historical drama “Sher-E- Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh”. They are very excited to bring his story alive on the small screen.

The show, which will air on Life OK, is based on the life and the journey of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It will feature actors like Shaleen Bhanot, Sneha Wagh, Sonia Singh and Sharad Kelkar.

Damanpreet will be seen as young Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and Tunisha as his love interest Mehtab Kaur.

“This is the first time that someone is doing a show on the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. I consider myself lucky as being Punjabi, it is a great honour for me to play this role as we have high regard for Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Since my childhood days, I have been hearing stories about him and now getting a chance to play him is like a dream come true,” Damanpreet said in a statement.

When Tanisha was asked about the same, she said: “I have always been fascinated by stories of kings and queens, so getting to be a part of this historical period drama seemed like the perfect opportunity. Even the dialogues in the show are very powerful and will be a combination of Hindi and Punjabi, so I am very excited to be a part of this project”.
