Five new designers selected for LFW’s Gen Next programme

As many as five new designers have been chosen to showcase their collections at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2017 in its Gen Next Designer Programme.

In its 23rd batch, the programme will feature collections by new designers like Pallavi Singh, Nakita Singh, Soumodeep Dutta, Ishanee Mukherjee & Anirudh Chawla, and Resham Karmchandani and Sanya Suri.

These designers have been chosen by the members of the LFW advisory board that consists of members of the Indian fashion industry.

“Gen Next has launched the fashion careers of some of the great talents of India. This season too Lakme Fashion Week looks forward to celebrating the foray of a new set of spirited young fashion designers who will carve their names in the Indian fashion industry,” Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovations, Lakme, said in a statement.

The Gen Next programme has previously introduced big designers like Rahul Mishra, Nachiket Barve, Masaba Gupta, Kallol Dutta and Aneeth Arora.

Introducing the five new designers, Jaspreet Chandok, Vice-President & Head-Fashion, IMG Reliance Limited, said: “LFW Gen Next forum has been the leading platform for designer discovery in the realm of fashion. Our Gen Next programme is not only limited to finding young talent but also to mentor them as they present their innovative collection to the industry.

“These designers have showcased a fabulous preview collection and I look forward to their launch on the Indian runway.”
