Guru Somasundaram turns villain for ‘Yaakkai’

Published on

Actor Guru Somasundaram, best known for his work in Karthik Subbaraj-directed “Jigarthanda“, will be seen playing the antagonist in upcoming thriller “Yaakkai“.

His last on screen appearance was as the lead in this year’s critically-acclaimed Tamil drama “Joker”.

“If ‘Joker’ explored one side of Somasundaram, audiences will get to see his other side in ‘Yaakkai’. He will be portrayed in a completely new and fresh avatar. For the sake of acting, he can go to any extent, and it’s our pleasure to have him on board,” Kulandai Velappan, the film’s director, said in a statement.

He also feels the film will add another feather to the actor’s cap.

Produced by Muthukumaran, it stars Krishna Kulasekaran and Swathi in the lead.
