Prakash Raj forays as film director

Prakash Raj, the most versatile actor of South Indian film industry is often ennobled as Jacks of all trades. Emerging from theatre group, the actor made his onscreen debut with ‘Duet’ in negative role and later continued performing similar characters. Gradually, he was successful with some prominent roles and later established himself as protagonist. Almost, his every production turned to be a box office hit receiving critical acclaims.

Recently, he produced the film ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ (based on Hollywood flick ‘Father of the Bride’) featuring himself and Trisha as dad and daughter. The film was directed by Radha Mohan and Prithviraj did a cameo role.

With the film running successfully in Tamil and Telugu, Prakash Raj has decided to remake the film in Kannada. He makes his debut directorial with this film where Divya Spandana of ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ fame performs his daughter’s role. With the film’s shooting slated to hit the floors by November, buzz is that Puneeth Rajkumar will perform a cameo role.
