The making of Keralotsavam 2009

The shooting of former actor Shankar Panickar’s directorial debut, Keralotsavam 2009, starring Vinu Mohan and Vishnupriya in the lead roles, is in full swing. The shoot is taking place at various locations, including an old bungalow at Althara junction near Guruvayur. Keralotsavam 2009 promises to be an entertainer-cum-suspense thriller, produced by Grace International.

The movie is about Padmanabhan Embranthiri (Nedumudi Venu) who has retired from Kerala Kalamandalam, and decides to start a cultural group called Kalanikethan and organize a cultural festival, with the help of his daughter Ganga (Vishnupriya), a dancer. Sandeep Subramaniam (Vinu Mohan), a Kalarippayattu expert, joins the troupe.

The group members begin to suspect that Sandeep has a secret motive for joining the troupe. Sandeep is in dilemma when he feels a strong bond develop between Ganga and him. Kalabhavan Mani plays the role of the RAW officer in charge of the investigation.

Shyam Dharman has composed the film’s music and the lyrics are by Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma. Screenplay and dialogues are by Vinu Narayanan. The rest of the cast includes Sivaji Guruvayur, Salim Kumar, Kishore Sathya, Prakash and Abhirami Suresh.
