January 13, 2011 : Aamir Khan and Farah Khan will be working together after almost a decade. Farah, who is a choreographer turned film maker, was busy with Tees Maar Khan lately, but now that it has bitten the dust, she is going back to her roots by choreographing a song for Delhi Belly. When asked if she was moving back to becoming a full-time choreographer, she said ‘Not at all!” She is only choreographing Delhi Belly because Aamir asked her to. She only choreographs for her friends, her husband Shirish Kunder and her brother Sajid Khan she said. Delhi Belly is a sex comedy, which has Amir’s nephew Imran Khan in it and that is why Aamir is looking so much into the project. One more film Aamir is taking keen interest on is his wife Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat.
Aamir specifically wanted Farah to choreograph nephew Imran’s song because he wanted her to recreate the same magic she did years back in movie Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’s mega hit song “Pehla Nasha” which had Aamir himself in it.
In case you did not know, “Pehla Nasha” was Farah’s first ever choreography and since then, she has worked only twice with Amir, once in Sarfarosh and once in Dil Chahta Hai.
Kiran Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghat is just about to release and looking at the trailers, it looks like one hell of a movie. Here is wishing Aamir, Kiran, Imran and Farah all the best.
