AN ECSTATIC EVENING OF RAAG RANG WITH FLUTE PLAYER AJAY PRASANNA…

Living upto its aim of promoting the art, culture and traditions of India, Spandan communications presented the sixth evening of Raag Rang- the series of Indian classical music on April 21, 2010. Held at The India Habitat Centre, the concert showcased the performance of a renowned flute player Ajay Prasanna accompanied by Athar Hussain on the Tabla.

Well known for his melody, fluency and dexterity in performance, Prasanna’s soothing melody was a delight to the listener’s ears. The duo mesmerized the audience with Raagas Gorakh Kalyan and Des, followed by a dhun, ‘Yaad Piya Ki’ composed by Bade Ghulam Ali Khan sahib. Chief Guest for the evening Rashmi Malik, Director, Spic Macay said, “The contribution by Spandan Communications through Raag Rang towards Indian classical music is praise worthy. The performance this evening was phenomenal as the artists succeeded in striking a chord with the gathering.”

Anshuman Jain, MD, Saba Communications said, “I am proud to be associated with this noble venture as Saba Communications is one of Raag Rang’s supporters.”

“Significantly expanding the expressive possibilities of classical flute through his masterful blowing techniques, Ajay Prasanna always lives up to the audience’s expectations,” he added.

Pt. Rajan Misra, Pt. Sajan Misra, Deepak Gupta and Jagmohan Singh were spotted among the gathering.
