ASA launches its music division.

ASA Music, a freshly formed record label has just been launched by ASA Productions, the entertainment company which successfully released Vikram Bhatt’s “1920” and other movies like Mumbai Salsa. The company is poised to release another seven films (including one in Tamil) over the next twelve months. It is embarking on setting up full fledged into the Music Industry now.

Vikram Bhatt, who is at the helm of ASA Productions, is of the belief that there are huge opportunities in the music business today which are being ignored by most of the existing record labels. Though the Music Business is going through a trying period, he is of the view that there is immense scope in this area of entertainment, provided one aligns himself to new ideas and adapts to new technology. Suresh Thomas, one of the most successful and renowned promoters of music and talent has been taken on board to spearhead this operation.

Not only will ASA Music promote the soundtracks of its own movies but will also look at acquiring soundtracks from other producers. The label has already recorded and readied for release a host of Hindustani Classical Albums with big names such as Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya, and Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt. Some of these albums are based on interesting concepts such as Music Therapy, Music for Mental Peace and Rare Ragas by the Maestros. However, the company does believe in discovering and promoting fresh young classical talent as well and is looking at promoting the next generation of Classical Performers.

A bunch of young Pop Talent has been identified by ASA Music. They will be selectively launched and aggressively promoted in the near future. Artists signed with the company will also be given the opportunity to sing for ASA’s movies and will be strategically marketed and pushed in the show and films circuits. The company also intends to conduct a nationwide Talent Hunt to unearth new singers and performers from every nook and corner of the country.

ASA Music is geared to revive the magic of music again.
