The Sahyadri Navratna Awards were held recently. The award basically honors eminent Maharashtrians who have done commendable work in their own field of specialization. Among the recipients this year was veteran actress Asha Parekh who received an award for being a woman of substance.
For a person who has donned many caps successfully including that of being the first female chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification, this award couldn’t have been more apt.
