Bhandarkar gets top notch names for ‘Fashion’
Mumbai, July 14 (IANS) It seems that director Madhur Bhandarkar is determined to put the entire fashion industry into his film about the beau monde in one capacity or another. While models Lubna Adams and Achala Sachdev are doing the choreography, Rita Dhody is looking after Priyanka Chopra’s entire look in “Fashion”.
“I’m trying to rope in as many names from the fashion industry as possible to give ‘Fashion’ an authentic look. By the time the film is completed, I want everyone from the fashion industry to be in my film,” Bhandarkar told IANS.
“Besides the names you’ve mentioned, Falguni & Shane Peacock, Wendell Rodricks, Narendra Kumar Ahmed and Anamika have designed the fashion shows in ‘Fashion’. Among the top models who have contributed are Noyonika Chatterjee, Anchal Kumar, Binal Trivedi, Kavita Jairayat, Sucheta Sharma and Jesse Randhawa.”
Ace director Karan Johar plays himself in “Fashion” and has already shot for the film as one of the front-row spectators in a ramp show featuring Priyanka and Kangana Ranaut. And Manish Malhotra too will be making an appearance as himself.
“Even as the film’s shooting nears completion, I’m still trying to rope in more dress designers and models to make appearances in ‘Fashion’. This isn’t to cram the film with big names. My film is not just about glamour and fashion. It’s an authentic look at the fashion industry. I want to bring in everyone who matters.”
Even at the eleventh hour Bhandarkar is busy inviting some more of the who’s who of the fashion industry.
