Apparently Farhan Akhtar has been a huge fan of Hollywood veteran Robert De Niro for long. He’s grown up watching De Niro films like ‘Taxi Driver’ and ‘Raging Bull’. His big dream of meeting his childhood idol came true at a recent event in Dubai and he got a chance to meet his cine idol of many years, Robert De Niro.
In fact getting to meet De Niro was one of the primary reasons why Farhan attended the opening of Atlantis, The Palm, in Dubai.
The big meeting happened at the party hosted by Shahrukh Khan after the launch of the Atlantis hotel.
There were other guests from Hollywood too who were invited to the party
It’s hard to believe but the buzz is that SRK had informed De Niro a bit about Farhan’s work as a director and actor in Bollywood. After that De Niro gave Farhan his contact number and asked him to send a few of his films. Farhan added that he would be sending his films to De Niro soon.
Farhan has said in an interview, “To see him so up close and personal was an awesome experience, De Niro turned out to be a thorough gentleman.”
Farhan is apparently looking forward to more acting assignments. He’s acting in sister Zoya’s ‘Luck by chance’ and has put his directorial venture ‘Voices FromThe Sky’ on hold. He’s also gearing up to act in a film to be directed by a newcomer Vijay Lalvani to be co-produced by Farhan and his partner Ritesh Sidhwani.
So must say, there’s a lot happening on the Farhan front!
