This August, Imagine unveils two new heart-rendering sagas that will ensure your evenings are power packed with emotion and drama. ‘Palkon ki Chaaon Mein’ is a journey of an orphan girl, her dreams to love and to be loved by a family and ‘Basera’, a topical, emotion filled tale of four families in a captivating story that explores the fragile bonds that tie parents and their children. Starting Monday August 17th, these stirring sagas will air every Monday to Friday at 9.00 and 9.30 pm respectively only on Imagine.
‘Palkon ki Chaaon Mein’ is a heart- warming tale of an orphan girl Suman, whose dreams of finding family and love come true when a very lovable and traditional joint family accepts her. She finds both a loving family and the love of her life Karan, in this new home. But fate intrudes as she realizes that Karan’s mother has ordained her for his elder brother Karthik. She eventually realizes that destiny has its own way of granting wishes and it ultimately gives you what you truly deserve. Set in the heart of India, the story of loving, losing and rediscovering love unfolds amidst grandeur, magnificence and scenic beauty of Madhya Pradesh. The story will also showcase myriad customs, rituals and exquisite festival celebrations. ‘Palkon ki Chaaon mein’ will see Amrapali Dubey play the lead role of Suman, while Shoaib Ibrahim and Sumit Vyas will play the roles of Karan and Karthik, respectively.
Basera is an insightful story, which is relevant in today’s times. As India gets more urbanized, traditional secure joint families are giving way to nuclear ones where the older generation of Indians are coming to terms with loneliness and loss of control. Basera deals with these insecurities and a nagging concern that parents have about how their children will treat them in old age. The show traces the journey of four friends who have dedicated their life nurturing and catering to every need of their children and in turn putting their own desires on hold. For these four friends, whose world starts and ends with their family and children, their lives take a turbulent turn because of their very own children, whose priorities in life lie elsewhere. Will these families cope up with disdain from their children? Or will they give in to the perils thrown towards them by life in their “second childhood The story features some of television’s most popular actors such as Ram Kapoor, Pallavi Subhash, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Rajesh Shringarpore, Akshay Anand, Resham Tipnis, Priya Bhatija, Amit Jain, Neelu Kohli and Salil Chadda alongside a host of other talented artists.
Commenting on Basera, Prem Sagar of Sagar Arts said, “For decades, the shows produced by the Sagar Parivar have adhered to the mission of conveying a positive social message. Life is unpredictable, and no parent can be absolutely sure about the behavior of their children, especially in today’s materialistic world! Basera will open the inner eyes of youngsters and parents alike. It is a classic family saga for viewers across all ages more so for teenagers, who have diluted their values, ethics and dharma with time and circumstances.â€
Says Rashmi Sharma of Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, “What makes Palkon Ki Chaaon Mein stand apart is the simplicity of the storyline. It is told through the perspective of an orphan girl and her struggle to survive. It reflects the hopes and dreams of all young girls to be accepted and loved by their in-laws.â€
