6th February 2012, Mumbai: Culinary expert and world cuisine chef Rakhee Vaswani today unveiled the new Palate Culinary studio, a state-of-the-art International cooking studio that is bigger and more spacious than the one before. This new property is located at Santacruz West. Bollywood actor Malaika Arora Khan was present for the launch of the Palate Culinary Studio where she shared a thing or two about her culinary secrets.
Apart from Malaika Arora Khan, the launch was attended by Maria Goretti, Shaan & Radhika Mukherjee with others. Malaika Arora donned the chef hat and tried her hands to make sushi and checked the dessert counter.
The concept of Palate Culinary Studio is to bring upcoming chefs and foodies a platform where they can learn the art of world cuisine from scratch. The studio offers more than 80 one day workshops in every cuisine be it Thai, Sushi, Mongolian, Teppanyaki, Sizzlers, kebabs, Coastal, Desserts, Baking, Asian, Continental among others.
Chef Rakhee Vaswani’s students include junior master chefs, preteens, beginners, homemakers, grandmothers and celebrity clients like Malaika Arora Khan, Radhika Shaan Mukherjee, Mini Mathur, Maria Goretti, Shaheen Abbas, Gauri Tejwani. The list goes on.
Quirky in its ambience, Palate Culinary Studio is a seamless blend of old meets new. Be it the candylicious colours that has been used tin the sugar craft unit or the unconventional kitchen cabinet shutters that have quotes written on them to set the tone for the place, at the Palate culinary studio beauty meets functionality at every corner.
Palate culinary studio is equipped with 3 mediums of workstations – industrial, state of the art induction and the hob – to give the student an all round experience, which is also a trend in culinary schools. The Kitchen appliances are from Kenwood, UK and cookware from Bergner Austria.
About Rakhee Vaswani
A self taught cook, Rakhee Vaswani started cooking at the age of 11 and moved on to start her own cooking classes at home with a partner. Back then, she started the trend for one day workshops in exotic cooking keeping the regular moghlai and Chinese classes away. Post motherhood, Rakhee trained at Sophia’s for bakery and went to Tante Marie school in London for her cordon bleu certificate course followed by many a stints with trained chefs in Morrocan, French, Singaporian and so on. Post this, Rakhee Vaswani started Palete Culinary Studio.
Having mastered the pme sugar craft, Rakhee Vaswani is now joined by a UK based sugar craft artist and together they will introduce hands on certified courses.
