‘Bombay: Our City’ highlights the story of the daily battle for survival of around four million slum dwellers of Bombay who make up half the city’s population which includes Bombay’s workforce like the industrial laborers, construction workers and domestic servants. It brought out the predicament of the dwellers who were denied of city utilities like electricity, sanitation, and water. It also highlights the constant threat of eviction faced by the dwellers as the city authorities could carry out campaigns to beautify the city of glitz and glamour. The filmmaker has beautifully brought out the indictment of injustice and misery and a call to action on the side of the slum dwellers. It has received the best non-fiction film , national award along with Film Fare best documentary award .

‘War and Peace’ projects a documentary journey of peace activism in the face of global militarism and war. It was filmed over four tumultuous years in India, Pakistan, Japan and the USA following nuclear tests in the Indian sub-continent. The film has been framed by the murder of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948, an act whose portent and poignancy remains undiminished half a century later. It captured the stories of resistance along with the sorrow which resulted due to continent’s trajectory towards unabashed militarism. The film moves on to examine the costs being extracted from citizens in the name of national security. It has been awarded as the best film at the Mumbai International Film Festival. It was an enriching experience for those who attended the session and the guests shared their views on it. The film is a must watch for the youth of the country.
