December 1, 2010 : Filmmaker Prakash Jha, who is a renowned director and well-known for his political and socio-political movies, is now trying his hand on a women-centric film titled Turning 30. As the title suggests, the movie deals with a girl called Naina, who is going to turn 30. She is from Mumbai and facing a crisis in her advertising career. The story is like a young girl turning a responsible and sensible woman.

Producer Prakash Jha has a different take on the movie and also women. As many says that it is very tough to understand a woman but Jha thinks it is not very hard if one really tries from within. He thinks if you are interested to know about a person that you won’t stop until you get to know her.

Jha is very confident about his storyline of Turning 30 and is proud to have a mostly women crew for the film. Starting from the director, costume designer and the main actors, all are women and he thinks it helps to give the realistic feel to the story.  Debutant director Alankrita Shrivastava, who is very confident and independent in her work and Jha was impressed by this.

Informing more about the film, Jha said that most of the women working in the film turned 30 while they were involved with the films’ shooting. He says the film portrays the urban women of these days who are growing very independent and they can go to any extent in life to get whatever they want.

Gul Panag plays the lead woman in the film and she says that she could relate with the film as she was 29 when she got the film’s offer.
