Priyanka Chopra, National Award winning actress, on Friday supported Anurag Kashyap‘s Udta Punjab and said creativity should not be curbed in democracy.
I don’t think creativity should be stopped and controlled in a democracy. It is either in scenes or title of the film. It is something that should be set free. Our forefathers achieved freedom of speech and expression after a long struggle.
When asked about the controversy over Hindi film Udta Punjab, she said that the censor board is a certification body and not censor.
In democracy, you cannot dictate what one should eat or watch a movie on a social issue.
