The most talked about film of the year is Ram Gopal Verma’s Sarkar Raj. The man behind the film is as excited about it as the audiences are. Verma denies the fact that Abhishek’s character in Sarkar Raj dies at the climax. He waves off such reports saying that media had initially hyped that Abhishek dies at the end and that distributors are scared of taking his film. The straightforward man has also told in some interview that Aishwarya Rai’s role could have been played by a man as well.
The man behind the camera is sure what he wanted in the film. After showing betrayal, power play and treachery, there was no place for a romance. Verma doesn’t even give a hint about love between Abhishek and Aishwarya. So, why did he actually consider Aishwarya for the role, he has only one answer that he had decided on Aishwarya from the beginning but without any hint of a romance. Verma agrees that Amitabh’s character in Sarkar Raj has been deeply influenced by Bal Thackeray. He however denies that he has any adherence to Raj Thackeray or the ideology behind Shiv Sena. Verma has no doubt put a lot of Raj Thackeray in actor Rajesh Shringharpure’s role. To this he states that he has been a fan of Raj Thackeray’s personality. Now, isn’t that too obviously diplomatic.
