The 3rd Petrochem GR8! Women Awards – Middle East held amidst glitter & glamour. Anu & Shashi Ranjan’s The 3rd Petrochem GR8! Women Awards – Middle East, 2013 powered by Gitanjali was held at the ritzy ‘Joharah Ballroom’ at the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. An initiative of ‘GR8!’,women achievers from all walks of life, like Arts, Science, Medicine, Commerce, Social Awareness, Sports and many others across the Middle East were felicitated.
Another unique feature of the Ceremony was, the ‘Celebration of the 100 years of Indian Cinema’, for which such icons as Rani Mukherjee, Juhi Chawla, Karishma Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan and Padmini Kolhapure were honored for their impact & achievements that have crossed all boundaries of cast, creed and countries. Guests included Mugda Godse, Zarine Khan, Anushka Ranjan and others.
This year, the ceremony, anchored by the noted Indian actor/director, Rohit Roy and the ebullient UAE TV host, Rahaf Al Tawil, had rare razzle-dazzle as well as being awash with sublime moments, when such illustrious women as Fatima Al Jaber (COO of Al Jaber Group), Shada Naseer & Nujood Ali (Yemen based women activists who rebelled against child marriage), Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe and others of their illustrious ilk were adorned for the sterling account they have given of themselves in various fields.
The evening was punctuated with stunning performances by such scintillating Stars as the incomparable Urmila Matondkar, singer Ash King, the inimitable Gauhar Khan and the enthralling TV heartthrobs, Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh.
Ash King had the audience spellbound by belting out some chartbusters including ‘I Love You’ – Bodyguard, Te Amo – Dum Maro Dum, Chhamak Challo – Ra.One & Aunty ji – Ek Main aur Ek Tu
