Araiya Spring Summer Collection at FUEL – The Fashion store unveiled. What happens when a noted fashion designer and the most happening fashion store in South Mumbai come together after a small break? Curiosity and Fun of course. Designer Arshiya Eappen is back after a “Baby” break and all set to colour the fashion world with her spring summer collection 2010 – a special Valentine release “Audrey meets Rock”- unveiled at FUEL – The Fashion store, Chowpatty – this evening.

Owners of FUEL as well as the hosts for the evening, Mr Sushil and Falguni Jhaveri were seen welcoming Arshiya’s guests very warmly. Actress Tara Sharma,Suchitra Pillai, Models Kavita Kharayat, Monikangana Dutta, Mridula Chandrashekhar and Sanea Sheikh dropped in to wish their favourite designer all the best and welcome her back. Dr Nandita Palshetkar took some time out of her hectic schedule and made a breezy visit at this do, since she is a regular customer of FUEL and she quite likes arshiya’s collection.

FUEL has always encouraged Fashion in a big way, be it new genre designers or designers coming back after a break. On this ocassion, Sushil and Falguni Jhaveri of FUEL said, “It always gives us great pride to be the exclusive destination for the designers to be their launch/come back pad”

Araiya’s Spring-Summer’2010 evening wear collection is the hedonistic amalgamation of glitz and spunk.The silhouettes are sensuously draped in viscose lycra.This soft and Mouldable fabric makes this collection feminine yet comfortable. A strong Color pallet of deep red, forest green, midnight black strike a confident Note. Leather patchwork, diamond strings and heavy metal chains make This “Audrey meets Rock” collection perfect for the contemporary women.

Araiya, the brain child of designer Arshiya Fakih Eappen was launched in Mumbai in November’1998.Araiya’s reputation in built upon its minimal styles & vibrant colors. Its foundation centered on its sensitive attention to detail.

Arshiya studied Fine Arts at the J.J. School of Fine Arts where she topped the Deans Merit List. From there she headed to the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT – Mumbai) and then to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT – New York), where she received the Presidential Scholarship Award. After having worked with international designers such as Ralph Lauren and Neil Beiff, she then came to India to launch Araiya.
