Nashik, March 2012: Every generation has an actor that reflects the hopes, fears and aspiration of that era. And if there is one actor who can rightfully claim this iconic stature for the present generation, it’s Dev Anand.
The 4th Nashik International Film Festival saw a retrospect of the legendary actor Dev Anand. The festival displays screenings of Evergreen Hero Dev Anand’s ‘Hum Dono’, ‘Guide’ and ‘Chargesheet’ at the festival; which was anchored by his son Suniel Anand. The screenings took the audience back to the good old and left them spell-bound.
Dharam Dev Pishorimal Anand better known as Dev Anand, was an Indian film actor, writer, director and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. Part of the Anand family, he co-founded Navketan Films with his elder brother Chetan Anand. The Government of India honored him with the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002 for his contribution to Indian cinema.
The festival also saw the display of rarely watched films from the Baltic region documentaries, short films, animation, across the globe were showcased at the first day of the festival.
