October 19, 2010 : This week’s theme in ‘Dexter’ revolved around the new character, Lumen, who made a surprise entry in Dexter’s life. Surprisingly, the theme for this week’s episode was ‘Beauty and the Beast”. Dexter is tied down with a woman who survived Boyd Fowler’s torture; apparently she witnessed Dexter killing Boyd. Strangely, Lumen (Julia Stiles) considered Dexter to be the bad man and tried to escape from him as well.
Lumen might become the mainstay of this season and she might also turn into a serial killer herself. Dexter keeps Lumen locked up at the abandoned visitor’s center and calms her down. Meanwhile, Lumen thinks that Dexter is trying to kill her so she tries to escape; Dexter manages to sedate her and leaves.
Dexter is facing trouble with the nanny who quits her job because Dexter did not show up for the entire night. It seems that the nanny must be getting a whiff of Dexter’s dual lives. When Dexter returns to Lumen, she tricks him and tries to escape once again but Dexter catches her. He takes her to the swamp, where Boyd disposed his victims and tells her about Rita. This gesture allows Lumen to trust Dexter.
We think that Lumen has a abusive history and she might embark on a revenge killing spree on men who wronged her.
