When a meteorite from outer space hits a young California girl named Susan Murphy and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years. As a last resort, under the guidance of General W.R. Monger, on a desperate order from The President, the motley crew of Monsters is called into action to combat the aliens and save the world from imminent destruction! A young girl (Fanning) walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life – only much better. But when her adventure turns dangerous, and her counterfeit parents (including Other Mother [Hatcher]) try to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home – and save her family. WALL-E is one of the best animated movies to be released in a very long time. At times it manages to be almost poetic and lyrically beautiful in its exploration of the all too familiar subject of love. As expected from Pixar Animation Studios, the movie is dazzlingly beautiful in its animation, but it’s also sublimely anchored in the central love story. The emotional arc of the story unfolds as gently as flower petals. (more…)

Enchanted is a classic fairy tale about a princess Giselle who lands up in New York city due to a spell cast by an evil queen. After her arrival in New York she meets a divorce attorney and starts staying with him as she has nowhere to go. Let us however start at the beginning. Princess Giselle, played by Amy Adams meets and falls in love with Prince Edward essayed by James Marsden and they decided to get married. However, the prince’s stepmother Queen Narissa portrayed by Susan Sarandon is against the marriage as it will deprive her of power and control over the kingdom. So she disguises herself as an old woman and tricks Princess Giselle in to falling in to a wishing well. (more…)
