Saw VI

Saw VI is much better than the Saw V although in similar lines to the earlier Saw sequel.

Saw VI is a rare kind of a movie with gruesome horror details. However, set in a simple location, Saw VI has that serial-killer who makes some deadly devices with weird items ranging from bicycle chain, digital timers and many more. But I would suggest that if you have not seen any of the earlier saw series then Saw VI is not the right option for you.

Now all that I can remember is mastermind notorious killer Jigsaw John Kramer was already dead in Saw II. However, in Saw VI this man is again pulling the strings in various ways from the grave and it is being carried out by detective Hoffman played by Costas Mandylor.

The total story of Saw VI is through series of flashbacks, John Kramer was pulling the strings from somewhere or the other and he explains to the audience the motive for his next group of murders. In this Saw VI, there is Jigsaw’s ex wife Jill played by Betsy Russell and she plays an important part as the audience is left guessing about her moves and motives.

In all the Saw films the death traps are gruesome, notorious and often disturbing. In this chapter the wrath of Jigsaw fell on the insurance agent William who failed to honor the insurance policies of his client. But this time the horror of Saw VI is much in a toned down version.

Saw films are very much admired. The first one still holds good in memory for its exciting and thrilling scenes. That movie can be best compared with Silence of the Lambs and Seven. The following Saw II, Saw III or even Saw IV and Saw V are not that good movies but the generate huge crowds on the theater as it is from the makers of Saw.

It’s similar to going to Halloween especially in the haunted house. Though you know that the haunted house of Halloween is sheer fake and stupidity, nonetheless you enjoy it with a jolt.

Saw series films are more remembered for some shocking and disturbing elements and reflects some of the great creative carnage that at times can be fun. Rather than the earlier versions, it is in Saw VI that you can enjoy some humor. In no time again you will realize that the insurance agent’s neck is under the gallows. In each series it is some one or the other that earn Jigsaw’s wrath. You need to keep guessing as who would be the next in the series.

The flipside to the movie is that it has handled too many genres at a time ranging from horror details, occult weirdness to mythological understandings. Saw VI is directed by a newbie, the first time filmmaker Kevin Greutert.

Whatever be it, any of the future questions by audience seem to be answered by the subsequent sequels of Saw VII, Saw VIII and so on.
