Sorority Row
Sorority Row is based on Mark Roman’s original screenplay Seven Sisters. But the elements of the film had stark resemblance to the erstwhile horror hit of 1983, The House On Sorority Row. But the producers did not make any reference to it. This film is again another addition to the horror-remakes genre lately crowding the production houses.
Sorority sisters included Cassidy, Jessica, Ellie, Claire and Megan sworn to secrecy, solidarity and trust. But their loyalty is put to test when things simply went wrong.
The central theme of the film revolves around a joke that goes wrong and that sets the motion of the film in the form of revenge. The victim of the prank that went horribly wrong was Megan, and the mastermind behind it being the ambitious blonde Jessica who seems to hate everything. Megan, one of the fellow Sorority sister’s gets brutally murdered and her body is dumped down an abandoned mine shaft.
The Sorority sisters did not confess of their crime and decided to move on with their life. They felt that if they confess anything now, their future will get ruined.
Meet the characters of Sorority Row that includes Cassidy who was the best of the lot and also the one filled with remorse over the fact that they did not do correct with Megan, Clarie who is the second-in-command of Jessica but harbors unsettling thoughts and has drowned her sorrows into prescription drugs and is the one who cannot survive without boozing. Last, but not the least, is the bespectacled Ellie filled with remorse of killing Megan.
These young women, with their close-knit friendship, forged in Sorority Row encourage each other to embark on life’s journey spreading their wings. But the fate had some other tale to tell them.
It is a typical Slasher film with boobs, boys, booze and blood. Behind gory details, the film has some elements of black humor and that is the driving force to put in some depth into the characters. The movie unwinds into a hodgepodge of incessant killings and screaming.

Scene from Sorority Row
Eight months later, as the girls will be partying in another raucous party after they graduated out; thinking that it would be their last party together in the Sorority Row house with the strong hope that the past will remain buried, things did not remain the same. A mystery killer goes after the five girls and the people surrounding them who knew about the secret killings.
All the girls die; maybe as a punishment for their evil deeds. To know about the identity of the mysterious killer and how that night’s incident began haunting the girls’ lives is for you to watch out in the theaters.
But, it is to say that Sorority Row is not only about horror killings but the movie also vibrates with incidents to differentiate the girls and to bring out their individual characteristics, I say it doesn’t hurt to watch once.
