The ‘Ice Age’ is back! Ice Age 3; titled ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs’ is coming this July with the magic of 3-D! The sub-zero heroes from the worldwide blockbusters “Ice Age” and “Ice Age: The Meldown” are back, on an incredible adventure…for the ages.
After the events of “Ice Age: The Meltdown”, life begins to change for Manny and his friends: Scrat is still on the hunt to hold onto his beloved acorn, while finding a possible romance in a female sabre-toothed squirrel named Scratte. Manny and Ellie, having since become an item, are expecting a baby, which leaves Manny anxious to ensure that everything is perfect for when his baby arrives. Diego is fed up with being treated like a house-cat and ponders the notion that he is becoming too laid-back. Sid begins to wish for a family of his own, and so steals some dinosaur eggs which leads to Sid ending up in a strange underground world where his herd must rescue him, while dodging dinosaurs and facing danger left and right, and meeting up with a one-eyed weasel known as Buck who hunts dinosaurs intently.
‘ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS’ has everything audiences loved about the first two films, adding even more comedy, action, spectacular visuals – plus the movie magic of 3-D. Our beloved heroes live on, with some memorable new characters thrown into the “Ice Age” mix.

Character Descriptions
ELLIE:
Ellie is expecting a baby and is more than ready for the baby’s arrival; Mammoths experience six trimesters of pregnancy. She’s always been active and independent, so even though Manny would like her to rest and take it easy, Ellie isn’t ready to slow down quite yet.
MANNY:
Usually the level headed leader of the herd, we see a new side of this mammoth as he gets ready to face a new challenge – parenthood. Ellie’s pregnant and Manny becomes obsessed with making sure everything is just right of the baby mammoth.
SID:
Always the lovable goofball, Sid the giant sloth is well intended, but is always getting into trouble. This time, his attempts to have a family of his own get the whole group in danger.
DIEGO:
This saber-toothed tiger has been part of the herd for a while. But nowadays Diego is treated more like a kitty cat than the dangerous predator in the original ICE AGE and begins to feel the call of the wild.
SCRAT:
Scrat the saber-toothed squirrel is back. But this time he’s got more than the nut to worry about. He discovers an attractive female who squirrel promises to give him a run for his money. Will she win his heart of will she take his nut?
SCRATTE:
Scrat’s not the only one in the Ice Age with a love for nuts. Scratte is every bit as determined as Scrat and she uses her feminine wiles to her advantage. Plus, she’s got a few unexpected tricks up her sleeve.
CRASH:
Crash is still the loudmouth, antagonistic possum who loves X-treme sports and trouble. Here he meets Buck, an adventure-seeking weasel after his own heart. Along with his brother Eddie, Crash eagerly joins Buck’s side to navigate the world below the Ice Age and kick some Dino butt.
EDDIE:
Eddie still follows in brother Crash’s footsteps through all the mayhem and stunts. Ready for anything, he too is excited about helping Buck fight dinosaurs.
BUCK:
Buck is a larger than life, swashbuckling one-eyed weasel who helps Manny and the group navigate the Lost World. Buck used to live above ground but accidentally fell into the mysterious world beneath the Ice Age where he had a terrifying encounter with an albino Baryonyx dinosaur named Rudy. In the fight, Buck lost an eye but took Rudy’s tooth, which he now carries with him. Since that moment, like “Moby Dick’s” Captain Ahab, Buck has lived on his own and has devoted his life to seeking his revenge on Rudy. Quite a hero, but slightly crazy, Buck insists that in order to survive Manny and the group must ‘always listen to Buck.’ But his instructions often sound strange, making it hard for Manny to relinquish control and put his trust in the wacky weasel.
MOMMA DINOSAUR:
Retrieving her three babies, Momma Dinosaur is a Tyrannosaurus Rex who attacks the Ice Age herd and accidentally takes Sid along with her back to her home down below. But when she discovers the babies have bonded with Sid and are initially scared of her, she has to reluctantly work with Sid to raise the kids.
3 BABY DINOSAURS:
Three baby T-Rex dinosaurs hatch in front of Sid, and although they are twice his size, they immediately accept him as their mother and begin to mimic his every move. When Momma Dinosaur comes to rescue them, they are scared of their real mother and find themselves in the middle of a maternal tug of war.
RUDY:
This terrifying albino Baryonyx dinosaur is the ultimate threat for our characters as they navigate this mysterious world below. Years ago, Rudy had a huge fight with Buck, the weasel, in which Rudy took Buck’s eye, and Buck took Rudy’s tooth. Now neither will stop the pursuit until the battle is complete.

Why does the entire internet keep calling Rudy a Baryonyx when he couldn’t more obviously be a Spinosaurus?
