Rio de Janeiro, Sep 13 (Xinhua) Brazil has plans to build up to 60 nuclear plants of 1,000 mw each over the next 50 years. “The general idea is to build one plant per year,” Mines and Energy Minister Edison Lobao said Friday during a visit to the country’s third nuclear power plant, Angra 3 now under construction. Vienna, Sep 13 (DPA) The UN nuclear agency has raised its long-term projections for nuclear power growth, as countries are seeking stable energy prices and energy security. Global nuclear electricity production capacity will rise to between 473 and 748 gigawatts in 2030, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has noted in its latest annual outlook on nuclear power. New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS) The petroleum ministry is considering bringing a dual pricing policy for diesel so that bulk users are charged a higher retail price, a senior official said here Friday.
Speaking to reporters, Petroleum Secretary R.S. Pandey said the dual pricing policy “is under consideration right now”, in which “bulk users would be charged more”.

New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS) The government will not cut fuel prices despite the continuous fall in global crude prices, said Petroleum Minister Murli Deora here Friday. “I welcome that crude prices have come down,” Deora told reporters on the sidelines of a function here. New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS) Haryana is spending nearly Rs.200 million everyday on development of the state’s electricity sector, an official said here Friday. “During the 11th five-year-plan, the state government plans to spend Rs.255.24 billion on power generation, transmission and distribution network, apart from the investment to be made by private sector and renewable energy department,” said Ashok Lavasa, state’s financial commissioner and principal secretary (power).
