Irate residents of a locality here Monday set afire a government vehicle after it ran over four people, including two women, police said.
The vehicle, belonging to the education department, ran over the people in Doranda area.
The injured were taken to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), where the condition of two was said to be serious.
After the incident, a mob thrashed the driver, who they claimed was drunk, before setting the vehicle on fire. Police carried out a baton charge to disperse the mob.
