In another twist to the presidential tail, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ram Jethmalani on Saturday launched himself in the race to the Raisina Hill.
Interacting with mediapersons here, the Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan staked his claim for the top job, projecting himself against "friend" Pranab Mukherjee.
"I might lose, but will still contest presidential poll. Pranab is a friend, but I oppose his candidature. He hasn’t revealed names of black money holders," Jethmalani said.
His comments came as the BJP core committee was meeting at party president Nitin Gadkari’s residence to deliberate over its strategy for the presidential poll.
The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) had, on Friday, announced Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee as its presidential candidate. (ANI)
