About Thalassemia
Thalassemia are inherited blood disorders. “Inherited” means they are passed on from parents to children through genes. It is very serious blood disease that begins in early childhood.
Thalassemia causes the body to make fewer healthy red blood cells and less Hemoglobin than normal. Hence, people who have Thalassemia can have mild or severe anemia. If untreated, death is imminent. And it can be prevented if Parents to be get their blood test done before planning a child.
